Charging iPhone 12 ProMax using Macbook brick

Hey all. I have been using the Macbook brick to charge my iPhone 12 ProMax, as the phone came with a USB-C input cable. It charges the phone insanely fast but also heats it up quite a lot. Do you think it is damaging to the battery? I reckon Apple has already approved such use but I couldn’t be sure. Thanks.

Hey @angoedaly48- I’m curious about the resolution.:eyes:  Was it approved by Apple? Was your battery damaged? #IGotQuestions:joy:

Hello there! It's not uncommon to use a MacBook charger to charge an iPhone with a USB-C input cable. While it does charge the phone faster, it's important to note that it also generates more heat than a standard charger. As for whether it's damaging to the battery, it's difficult to say for sure. Apple has designed its products to be used with a specific charger, and using a different charger could potentially impact the battery's lifespan. However, it's worth noting that Apple does make USB-C to Lightning cables and chargers that are compatible with the iPhone 12 Pro Max, so using one of those might be a safer bet. Ultimately, if you're concerned about the impact of using a MacBook charger on your phone's battery, it might be worth reaching out to Apple directly for their expert opinion.
