phone voicemail, there is none

my voicemail does not functioning.
in 2021, i I received iPhone and I previously had android when I started with cricket. I been with cricket for awhile. Then I notice over the months my voicemail was not functioning. Somehow it was never setup.
i press “ call voicemail “ and the automatic voice says “ the voicemail you trying to call has not set up their voicemail please try again later “ and there no setup option in voicemail on my phone.
i try to contact apple and they say it’s the carrier issue which is Cricket.
please help with the voicemail for my phone number . Thank you.
