Sold iPhone XR that’s locked

I bought a iPhone XR off Facebook Classifieds not knowing that Cricket has a locked period and the guy who sold it ghosted - so now I have an expensive paperweight. Cricket won’t help me without his phone number and pin which I obviously can’t get. Is there anything I can do?

@Josh906 Thank you for visiting and posting on the Cricket Community Forum! Unfortunately, when devices are sold by the owner they have to request the unlock. Since the device is fairly new they do not meet the 6 months of active service to unlock the device through Cricket. You can use the device with our service or AT&T since we are a subsidiary of them.
