THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM AND IS TAKING MONEY BUT REFUSING TO PROVIDE SERVICE. I started a new line last month on the $40 plan. I immediately noticed my service was very slow, I only had 1 bar of service and I was barely able to make a call. After 3 days I received a text saying all my data was used and my data would be even slower. I then paid an additional $13 to upgrade to the unlimited data plan. This DID NOT help and my data connection was still bad (I would get error messages saying I was not connected to the network as well as seeing it on my phone. I called customer service (Aug 24) and the rep said she would create a ticket to fix the issue and issue me a courtesy credit for the inconvenience. No one every contacted me or did anything about that ticket. Since that first call I have called over 10 times ( just spoke to a rep 2hrs ago) to report the same issue and that my data is not working but they issued another ticket, some reps hung up the phone in my face and some promised another credit but all of that was a LIE because they have not done anything. Last week customer service said I need to go the store and they will fix it, I went to the store and the rep said they COULD NOT help me I need to call customer service. My phone was turned off this morning and I was told by a supervisor """ I NEED TO PAY MY BILL AND HAVE MY SERVICE RESTORED SO THEY COULD TROUBLESHOOT THE PHONE""" They had over 3 weeks to do troubleshooting but they refused. Then she said """ I can give you a credit of 0 dollars"""". Wow this company should be ashamed of themselves.

They can’t help because they don’t care, have horrible equipment, don’t know how to operate said equipment & they are crooks. Just switch service, you’ll thank yourself for no more “Cricket Headaches”.

They told me I was lying and refused to turn my service back on. I'm done with them. It'll cost me an extra $100 this month to leave now, but I'm willing to pay it to get away from cricket. Get out before they get you...

well in my opinion you are entitled a new phone that works and a month on cricket, since it was there sorry customer service.  the way they respond to that problem will tell you crickets morals and values as a business.   I admire your patents sir.

Don't buy a Cricket phone, get an OEM unlocked one.

I got a Cricket specific Galaxy S5 (back in the day) and it stopped receiving Android updates long before my wife's unlocked ATT S5 did (I got as far a Lollipop while she got Marshmallow. IIRC).

I bought a Samsung factory unlocked Note 8, and now I only have Samsung's horrible bloatware, not Crickets and Samsung's.

I was able to install MyCricket and Visual Voicemail from Google Play store, so I'm not missing anything, except the lack of future updates.

Now if Samsung would quit putting bloatware on my phone and blocking me from controlling many of the UI settings, I would be happy. It seems like you have to root a phone to actually own it, but some gaming apps won't allow installation on rooted phones.

Samsung makes beautiful hardware, but destroys the experience with their heavy handed software installations.

Sounds like an awful experience but have you tried doing some diagnostics to see if you live in a bad cell reception area? This blog tells you how to check your phone's signal strength. I've had Cricket for 2.5 years and I've never had any problems. There are many things that can screw up your call quality and data downloads so I recommend checking it out.

Not able to turn off stream more and videos limited to 480p less than dvd quality and 3mps is a shame.

As I posted in the another comment, FYI, I switched to PureTalk USA, same ATT towers, same coverage, USA based Customer Support, and cheaper. Not being paid or getting a reward from PureTalk, I'm posting this to all my previous comments to let people know there's a decent alternative...

Yeah they're trying to charge me a $75 deductible on a freaking Stylo 3 if you look at the retail price on one of those now you can buy a brand new one for less than a dollar on Amazon it's crazy and I've been paying $7 a month for over a year now I could have bought a nice phone a real good phone for the money spent on the insurance each month but that is the biggest scam on the planet and I am going to blast social media

Cricket cell service turned in to worst after they reached 10 million subscribers. Data slow to 3mps, they reduced cell coverage area. Now my service is spotty with the same cellphone.

You're seriously giving grammar advice, with that kind of spelling?  It's YOUR, YOU and COULD... not ur, u and cud.    Don't criticize someone for leaving out commas and periods when you're also leaving things out.  How hard is it to type a few extra letters?  Words make more sense when spelled correctly as well. 

And, really, capital letters say you're angry or intent, but they don't literally make any sound.  Give people a break!  Angry people are entitled to capitalize.

Yes they are I agree 100% with you.

They simply seem to have flat out stolen $200 from me. Ordered my phone over a week ago, still I wait. I've lost count of how many times I have contacted them only to keep getting the runaround. The way they conduct business is absolutely abhorrent. I would not recommend them to ANYONE.

They have got the worst customer service I have run into with any company anywhere in 30 years.
I'm having issues even maintaining 3-g on my phone much less 4 or 5 G that the coverage area should support you can't get a straight answer in their customer support at all clearly it's some monkey sitting at a computer waiting for the computer to tell him what to say not listening to what you type at all not at all I just wasted two and a half hours trying to get the settings for the data connection because it is not functioning properly and was told after waiting 10 15 20 minutes for them to respond to their own statement let me have to drive to the store I don't hang on let me find the local store for you five minutes go by let me find a local store for you five more minutes go by so please hold oh and I'm looking for the closest store I run out of time I say please put anything you told me you were going to give me you didn't give me the settings you told me you were going to you didn't show me proof of a credit to buy a new SIM card that you said you would apply you didn't give me any information you said you were or than I ask for at all in 2 hours and I have to get in the shower please continue to respond I'm leaving the chato but I will not be able to respond as I have got to go I don't have hours and hours and hours to wait for you scare a new screen with no response 20 minutes later the person didn't read any of my begging begging I begged I begged to please send me the settings for both options you said you would send please send me the confirmation of said credit please send me the addresses of the stores I won't be able to respond but I will check back and what do they write oh geez I haven't heard you respond in a while. Are you still there well okay I set up an issue so you have a number with tech services and visit but you never sent me anything so I waited two and a half hours ruin my whole fucking day and I got nowhere so really shouldn't they pay me like 2 months worth of phone service at a better rate or give me a fucking phone it's crazy crazy how bad Cricket services customer service and this is from a customer of 15 years using an S5 Galaxy because I have too many parts to sell it and get a better phone but it should work. It's their issue and they drag their feet and cut their services and cut the stores and make you drive farther to find a store or get to one how many ways can it cost you to repair their problems although there are fewer places that will work with Cricket or excuse me with my Samsung Galaxy S5 anymore so at the moment I feel a little stuck I definitely feel like someone from cricket corporate out of calling pretty much kiss my ass and begged me not to be saying shity things because really this is just insane the world should know how much trouble they put you through to get their help and then don't even give you their help

I had this happen back in January, had screen shots and everything. Had paid my bill around 10:30 on the night before due date, it had processed according to my bank, it THEIR service was 'down'.. we're talking phone systems, online chat, EVERYTHING. (Somehow my payment was processed, though🙄.) THEN, they hit me the next day with some double payment, saying it didn't procees, AND A LATE FEE! I never did get the refund ty promised, only a $15 credit for the late fee. I should have just switched beck in January. Also, I'm having huge issues with the EBB plan, I'll include my thread I posted today regarding THAT debacle, if anyone is having a similar issue. Would just appreciate someone with some positive feedback, 'cause I'm certainly not getting it from Cricket

Cricket, you're totally full of bullsh*t. I'm not only on SSI (so I absolutely qualify, but received initial notifications about this program from the SSI/government side of things, encouraging me to apply), I've being trying for OVER 6 MONTHS and keep getting the run around from Cricket. ALL THESE MONTHS SHOULD HAVE BEEN DISCOUNTED! I was even going to switch services at the beginning of the year (literally January '21), but Cricket assured me that if I stayed things would be processed accordingly; they were just 'backed up' due to demand. I'm thinking for those like myself especially, 2ho KNOW that they've been approved for the program, it's time for a little FCC/class action lawsuit time  Seriously, anyone else interested? I bought a cricket phone 6 weeks ago if I'm a cricket store. It's the Moto g power. I have four gigabytes of RAM and 64 gig of storage. I'm paying $60 a month for the unlimited plan plus HBO Max. I get four to five bars reception at my house.

I have the internet speed meter app and I'm showing typically less than 10 KB/s, that's a fraction of 1 mb /s. The latency is so bad that I sometimes wait up to a minute for a browser page to load on my phone. Not talking about complex browser pages.

 

Yes, I am interested in a class action lawsuit against Cricket. I am also going to file an FCC complaint, although I am not going to hold my breath on that. The regulartory capture in this industry is terrible. The cell companies own the FCC like big pharma owns the FDA and the CDC.
