3G Network Shutdown Starting in February 2022

Hey Cricket Nation,  Over the past few months, we have seen an increase in questions concerning Cricket’s proposed 3G shutdown. Question like, “Will my phone stop working?” or “Will my rate plan change?” In hopes of giving you some answers to those burning questions and more, we decided to write out a short blog post about it.  Why is the Cricket 3G Network shutting down?We don't like to think of it as shutting down. We see it as the network getting better for our customers.  This shift will mean faster, stronger, more reliable service for customers who currently use services on the 3G network.Will I need to get a new cell phone?I too am always looking for a reason to buy/switch out my phone to a newer device. Dear Dante, I’m back in college, my grades are good, and my favorite holidays are around the corner. I should be happy but I’m not; I’m miserable! Thinking about spending time this fall with family and friends just makes me miss my Juliet. Dante, I now know that Juliet is my true love. Sadly, when she was mine I took her for granted, deserting her on Saturday nights and ignoring her lonely texts. Finally, she kicked me to the curb saying, “Hasta la vista, baby.” In my mind’s eye, I can still see her ponytail bouncing behind her as she walked out of my life. Secure Your Phone Number SIM card swapping is a scam where bad guys hijack your mobile phone number, giving them access to information coming to your phone number. Secure your number to reduce SIM swap scams It starts when bad guys find a person to target who has accounts that are accessible online. The fraudster could be interested in draining a financial account or taking over a social media account with a large following. To do this, they take control of your phone to get past extra authentication that may be an added layer of protection for your online accounts. That’s where somebody can’t get into your account unless they can receive a one-time PIN via text or call. We have been laser focused on upgrading our systems to add more security and protection to customers that use our digital services. Yay! We are instituting a single sign-on process that will bring speed and an additional layer of safety to the sign on process.Unfortunately, we have hit some bumps in the road while upgrading our systems . If you have tried to sign into the myCricket app recently, you may have noticed that your login information wasn't accepted. Chances are that you use an email address to sign into our systems. The new upgrade requires users to sign in with a user name versus their email address (re: safety).Don't worry. We have a solution. Cricket Wireless Employees Celebrate 20th Birthday Through a Week of Service

Cricket Wireless is celebrating our 20th birthday by saying ‘thank you’ and giving back to the communities that have given us so many reasons to smile since 1999. Headquartered in Atlanta, Cricket employees were excited to invest in our hometown through a week of service in the community. Family Tech Support Needs Backup

Dear Dante, I love my family, for real I do. But I’m fed up with being their tech support! If I had a nickel for every time I helped my dad with Bluetooth pairing or got my brother out of a jam when he forgot his phone unlock password, I’d have enough to buy an iPhone XS with the cash in my pocket. Of course, I don’t charge them for my time (or my hair extensions that cover up what I pull out when they get really silly - like the time my dad paired his phone with my grandma’s Bluetooth speaker. Every time he got a call, my Grandma would yell from the porch, “Turn off your phone. I’m listening to Aretha!”). Dante, how can I help my family help themselves with simple tech stuff? My Cricket compatibility with LG K8 and Motorola G7

Dear Cricket customers,  If you have one of the two devices listed in the title, you may be experiencing issues with the My Cricket application crashing while in operation. We are working with the OEMs (Motorola & LG) to fix this issue. Below are options to use in lieu of the My Cricket app.  Motorola After speaking with the manufacturer, we advise customers to use "My Account Online" to perform account tasks and not factory reset their device. Motorola is currently working on a fix but will not have it ready for 2-3 weeks. Our app dev team is researching if there is anything we can do in the meantime to help with this issue. LG Our technical teams are still researching issues regarding this device, since we havent been able to validate excessive crashing of the app on the K8. If you have issues with the My Cricket app while on the K8, please access your account functions via "My Account Online."   Thanks!
