Active account erased

My husband has had an account for 2 years with auto-pay. Yesterday I went to Cricket's web to change his payment preference but got an error message that his username and/or password was not valid. I re-typed it and got the same message. What was odd was there was also a "Welcome back" and then his username. I tried the other option of entering his phone number. The error message said the number didn't exist.

I went to chat; explained (after having to go through the stupid autobot!). They looked it up and said his account had been erased because of inactivity on their site!! WHAT??? If everything is working as it should...why would I need to sign in on their site??? Auto-pay takes out the money every month. We're not behind. His phone works fine. No problems why would they erase his account???

The Rep told me he'd have to register all over again. That's NOT going to happen. This company has very bad reviews with customer service. I'm not wasting any more money with them.

I will be calling them on Monday.

Thanks for your replay and sorry that you had to sit on hold for an hour. Our customer service centers are currently experiencing higher than normal call volume. We would like to look into this further for you. Please reach out to our support team on Facebook ( or twitter (@cricketsupport) with the details of your issue and we can open a case for you.

Same issue happened to my account. Last login was definitely less than 6 months ago. Not sure what they keep doing. I got a message saying my auto pay did not get processed, so was trying to go online and check what the issue was. Login did not work and ended up using phone to update card.

Tried to chat/called customer service and was waiting for an hour, I ran out of patience and hung up.

I am just going to wait and see if auto pay goes thru. This company has no sense of customer service. They were a good company before AT&T acquired them.

@Trapshooter79 It sounds like the online account was erased and not the whole Cricket account. This is a normal practice to increase security of online accounts. It takes less than 5 minutes and doesn't cost anything to re-register for an online account.
