I would think any phone that is hot spot capable should work.

Please explain ? It must be on a list to be able to be used as a hotspot ???

Does that also include tethering... ?

I mean I do not want all my internet use to be only on a 5 or 6 inch screen.

It must be on the list of compatible phones sold by Cricket if you want to use the hotspot legally. Tethering isn't allowed legally either.
