Phone password reset?

I have a password on my phone (not a pin or pattern).

Is there a way to get this reset so that I don't loose all of my data?

I have tried my google account and it will ring my phone but doesn't seem to do anything to the password change.

I appreciate any help with this

Android unlocking is relatively easy, and there are many ways to unlock without losing data. If you enable USB debugging on your phone, you can use ADB (Android Debug Bridge) to remove password on Android phone. I used to use this method to solve it. Or use Android Device Manager.

Unfortunately there isn't any way I know of other than doing a master reset on your phone as long as your email has back up turned on even if you do a reset it will restore everything but the apps you have on your phone. I recommend taking a screenshot of the apps you have and send them to another phone so you can download them again. If your unable to do that when you log back in to the phone you can go back in the store and see all apps you have ever installed. I wish you the best of luck and hopefully you can remember the password so you don't have to reset your phone
