Port out Scam allowed to continue for over a year

On October 2, 2020, my phone stopped working.  I went to my nearest Cricket store and was told my number had been ported to another carrier.  After reading the many posts on this forum, this scam has been going on for over a year at least.  Cricket is not addressing this problem.  My information on my account had all been stolen, my user name, my password, my pin, my secret questions and answers.  I am the ONLY one that has access to this information.. Same scenario as others, ported out to a tracphone through Smart Talk.  Smart Talk gets no permission yet they won’t release my number after given proof of my existing account with Cricket Wireless. This needs to be a class action suit!  After searching the internet, it is happening all over the country to many.  I have reported this to the Better Business Bureau and FTC.  People affected by this are without phones for weeks and months while criminals have access to their email, store accounts, bank accounts and lending capabilities.  THIS MUST BE STOPPED!  If any of you Cricket customers have had this experience, please share.  I have filed a police report and will be making them aware of this ongoing scam.

I did. They did nothing! My phone has been with no service for a week.  I can’t get anyone to call me back.  I cannot find out what is being done to restore my service that I have had since 2017.  The tell me the escalation team is investigating while I have no service.  The Facebook page is no help.

Cricket Wireless on Facebook is useless. No help at all. Didn’t respond through message to my question.  Still out of service a week later with no response from Cricket Wireless.  No way to reach anyone except 800 number.  Corporate headquarters have no information on line.  You can’t reach anyone not even the CEO John Dwyer.  This is Identity Theft and no one at Cricket is doing anything about it!

I would just get a new number and make sure you keep your account info secure. Whoever ported your number most likely did it so they can hack into your finances. The 2nd step authentication requires your phone number. Id start alerting and changing the number to any and all important account. Whoever got your info must likely knows you.

I am not a big fan of Cricket Wireless, however, someone had to have stolen your account # and pin. The only way to port out your number is to provide the account # and pin # to the new carrier. I will say I went into the Cricket store not to long ago and they didn't even look at my ID or anything when purchasing a new sim card. Also you can activate a sim card pin that is required every time you put your sim card in a new device or restart your phone. This pin will keep someone from being able to steal your sim card out of your phone. Cricket sim cards will start to work in any phone it is placed into if its unlocked. Your probably not going to get anywhere with Cricket and  your time is better spend notifying all your personal accounts and locking everything down.

I don’t agree. Many have experienced this and all signs point to an inside job coming from FLORIDA.

My number for ported out without me know it it was a scam and apparently cricket allows all these scams they would not give me a new number without paying was in the middle of a pay cycle I think they need to be sued they have the worst customer service when you call the 611 number I think it’s an internal job they sell info or they r the ones stealing it. But I wonder if a lawyer would even be interested 

And I think it’s a way for cricket to get more money letting people port numbers out and they make u pay for more service to add another line. Currently looking at moving companies if cricket nation won’t make things right 

I don’t even have cricket but yet I’m having major problems with them. If there is a lawsuit sign me up!!

I’m looking into getting a class a lawsuit they would not help me at all and had to pay for a new number I honestly think it’s an inside person selling our info or using  our info to try and hack our stuff and use our identity. If I find a lawyer and get one going you best bet I will post on here and who do contact they should have made thing right when I asked.

Yes thes is  becoming an epidemic. No Doubt. I will be making another report as this issues has been an everyday nightmare for 3 years. I have informed Cricket many many times. I've made reports. New emails . New numbers and new phones. I can't help but to agree with a lot of fellow customers as to an inside issue because after the way they have disregarded the true issues and the treatment put upon my by there agents. I'm at a loss. This is becoming a world wide issue and you can't run away from what you can't see. And if that's not bad enough you start to realize after going thru this for so long it becomes a norm. My anxiety and stress has been thru the roof. Everytime i pick up my phone and I see the same issues on brand new  phones it's starts all over again . I don't buy cheap phones and I buy them outright no payment plan. I starting to think that this is starting to affecting my mental state. It's just to much. Even right now as I post this I know my phone once again is getting a Hack Attack. I'm fixing to start growing a garden again and spend more time going camping and fishing. This ain't worth 300 dollars every few months. If y'all do not address  this issue soon you gonna lose all your costumers. And please do not  tell me one more time that  you don't think that anyone of your co-workers at Cricket would do anything like this. I thought that teenage boy that I believed would never hurt a fly  was gonna walk into church one day and shoot up half the congregation But he did! This is not one person in my case this is a group who target you and by the time they are thru you are destroyed and scarred for ever. You can never be the same. I'm a walking testimony to the hell the it causes. 3 YEARS NOT ONE OUNCE OF ACTION FROM YALL JUST DEAD END TROUBLESHOOTING AND SUGGESTING I GET ANOTHER  NEW PHONE. OUTRAGEOUS. I ain't mad tho..lol
