Service was cancelled

I have no way of calling bc my service was cancelled by the person that got me the phone...so what do I need to do? Can someone please help me?

Go sign up for new service if account not in your name.

Been with every carrier since the 90s is what I am basing this on.

Phone number of course was theirs.
