I'm new to this If I bring a locked ATT iphone to cricket, do I have to have it unlocked first?

I realize you do if it's Verizon or Sprint but don't quite understand if it's currently on ATT

Thank you for visiting and posting on the Cricket Community Forum! The AT&T device will work on the Cricket network without it being unlocked. Cricket Wireless is a owned subsidiary of AT&T.
