Able to send but not receive texts on new Moto G7 Supra

Hi,

I have a week old Moto G7 Supra.  Texting was working for several days but stopped today (12/10).

I had been using Messages v 7.0.039.  As of today anything sent just says 'sending' until it times out

Changed over to Chomp and I can send OK but don't receive replies.   The replying device shows that the reply has been sent.

The odd part is that my wife has the same phone, a few weeks older, and it is fully operational.   Same source (Cricket), same versions of Messages software but different results.

There is one difference, in Messages .. Settings .. Chat Features .. the phone times out while "trying to verify" the phone number on my phone.  The older phone has status of "Connected"

Any suggestions?
