Hi

I have a cricket Moto e5.  I recieve individual SMS/MMS test messages and group text just fine from other Android users as far as I can tell. However, recently have encountered a problem when iphone users include me in group texts.  Rather than just giving me the message, I get a notification with a link to "download" the message.  The download never completes unless I am connected to a wifi network.  This seems to be some kind of conflict between Android's MMS and Apples imessage systems.  Based on suggestions on the internet I have attempted the following:

1. I have ask several iphoner's to ensure they have my phone number listed as "mobile" rather than "iphone" in their contacts list

2. I have asked several iphoner's to ensure their settings are set to "send SMS when imessage is not available"

3. I have verified that I do NOT have a active imessage account with Apple.

Anyone have a fix for this?

@Al Thank you for visiting and posting on the Cricket Community Forum! We'd be happy to assist you, when it comes to Apple devices sending group messages they don't have an option to pick or chose who to send the message as a iMessage or a regular text. The user of the iPhone needs to turn off the iMessage completely in their settings so that you can receive the group text message. Also, if they are sending the message to more than 10 individuals in the group you may not receive these messages due to our network not having the capability for more than 10 numbers per group message.

It's nothing new been doing for years I have Samsung edge 6 don't get messages if iPhone are on group w me..6yrs now..andvit screws up regular messages from people..dont do it!
