Blizzard won't accept Cricket Wireless!

I need to enter my phone number on my Blizzard account for an added layer of protection.  I have the usual contract, pay by the month and can receive texts and all that.  However Blizzard tells me that there is a code on my phone put on by Cricket which will not allow my phone to be used on their site.  What is this code they are talking about?  And can it be taken off?  This is my only phone and I really don't want to switch to another plan at the moment.

On Blizzard's forum there are many people having the same problem as I am using their Cricket plan phones on their website.  Perhaps Cricket can contact Blizzard and figure this out?

Hi @Bane Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We have not received reports of this issue with Blizzard, but we would like to get more information and check to see if we can assist you further. Please reach out to our support team on Facebook (m.me/cricketwireless) or Twitter (@cricketsupport) for further assistance.

Confirmed. Blizzard Entertainment will not accept Cricket Wireless phone numbers.

"You will also receive this error when trying to add a pre-paid phone number. Pre-paid phone numbers cannot be used for phone notifications. Customer Support cannot bypass this limitation."

Blizzard Entertainment must not like Cricket Wireless customers.

I am having this same issue!  Is there any resolution?

My wife is having the same issue with Blizzard.  They refuse to accept a prepaid phone for their notification number.  They claim it's an issue with Cricket Wireless.  Wish these two companies would work together to figure this out.

Was there any resolution to this issue? I’m having the same issue between Blizzard and cricket.

Seems like this is still going on as of 9/30/2022.

Has there been any investigation as to why Blizzard/Activision considers Cricket Pre-paid?  I sure the heck do not want to jump off the service to a “major” brand just to play their poorly developed games.

Thank you.

Also running into this problem, and based on activity in blizzard forums and reddit it's pretty common with cricket. Right now blizzard has a canned message that says to talk to the provider, which is basically telling us we're sol unless we go to a different carrier.

Is there anything that can be done about this? Really don't want to have to change my phone number just for a game. Really it's pretty stupid of blizzard to force authentication only via phone number. It means once this is enforced I won't even be able to play older games I paid for just because I use cricket as my phone provider.

Its only the start, word is the new Call of Duty will require the same feature. Cricket needs to be proactive or people will jump ship.

Blizzard ended up allowing previous Overwatch players who already had a Battlenet account to play but new accounts cannot. My step son was excited to play with me but he cant unless we switch carriers
