Closing 3g Network Covering Fee

So, I have a OnePlus 7t, I upgraded to it last year in September.  In the MyCricket app it said that I was eligible to have the upgrade fee covered or something.  What specifically does that mean? And would I be eligible for it as I purchased the phone from Amazon and migrated my SIM over?  I specifically bought this phone because I thought it would be supported longer term and could go a couple years without an upgrade.

This a Cricket specific promotion that will waived your $25 upgrade fee if you upgrade your device with Cricket via our Cricket Wireless website or at your local Cricket Wireless store. This cannot be used with Amazon.
