cricket dream 5g phone from pawn shop

I found a dream 5g phone at a pawn shop near me and I want to get but it is locked to cricket wireless and I was wondering if I could get it unlocked until I have enough money for a phone plan through cricket?

For devices to be unlocked on our network, Cricket requires that customers have at least 6 months of active service on the device. To review device tenure, customers will need to provide us with the IMEI number of the device and the Cricket phone number that was used on the device.
