I signed up for cricket in July. Got a good plan a good deal because I receive food stamps, and got what I thought was a neat phone in the dream 5g. The best way I can describe it, is a POS. The first phone I had, had it for two days before I had to take it back to the store I got it from for randomly Turing off. I should have just exchanged it for the moto phone they asked me if I wanted to swap to, if I knew then what I know now I would, I got a whole new dream.
Came home and set it up, again within a week I was back at the store. This time the whole phone would lock up. I couldn't open any apps, when I would try to call someone it took FOREVER for it to try to connect to make the call. Kept popping up a notification something "ACS" I tried to tap it to see what it was nothing happened. Also had MAJOR battery issues (still have those) where it could be plugged in and the battery draining not charging. I could leave it locked charging while I slept and it would just barely be over 50%.
Took it to the store where I got it from and it got factory reset. Not even a week later having the same problems! I spent every day that week factory resetting it myself, before I decided this was enough and needed a new phone .Took it back to my local store, I didn't purchase my phone there i got it in the next town over, but went there because of gas, they were no help, told me to take it back to the store I got it from. So I drove all the way out there, where the chick who I dealt with when I got the phone was working, she was great super cool super sweet, she factory reset my phone, told me if I was still having these problems to call help desk and come back the next day and they'd call their DM to see what they could do to get me a different phone.
Went back to the same store the next day, at this point it was this Monday, 8/15/2022, to a different girl and told her what I was told the day before. She wasn't so helpful. I told her my problems told her I called the help desk and kept getting the run around and going in circles and talking in circles. She didn't seem to really care. She reset my phone, not factory reset but a normal reset, typed on her computer, I think she pretended to call the DM called another store to see if they had a cheap phone I could buy, despite me telling her I was broke until next week. She seemed clearly annoyed that I was having a problem. She said there was nothing I could do other then come in when I got paid to upgrade my phone which would cost a lot of money because i haven't reached the six months mark to upgrade yet.
I left the store had to factory reboot it one more time, and it's been fine until today. It's having the same problems. Freezing, not letting me open apps, I couldn't get the keyboard to open to type in my pin to factory reset it. But, today I think I figured out the issue, I went to pull my sim card to take it out reboot the phone and try putting it back in again, but I just pulled my sd card out. It's working fine now without a factory reset. There is something this phone doesn't like about memory cards. I've seen other posts on here talking about them having problems with the phone and memory cards.
I don't know how long my phone will be working for before I have to force another reboot, if I fixed it, or just put a band aid on things for now. But I guess it's a good damn thing I'm getting a whole new phone on Monday, buying it out right factory reset unlocked from eBay so it's not a cricket phone, so maybe I'll have a phone that works instead of the dream. Seriously I don't understand how they can push these phones to people when they seem to be nothing but problems and headaches and a way to make them more money by forcing people to upgrade.
