I'm very confused, how can an unlocked Motorola Edge 5g UW (originally from Verizon) not be compatible with Cricket? It has both 4g and 5g capability, so why would this phone be impacted by the 3g system?

I'm trying to gift this phone to someone who is in need, but if it won't work on Cricket, this won't work. This is a really nice phone, only a year old, why wouldn't Cricket be able to use this phone?

Hi @berthagator and welcome to the Community Forum! Please know that we are working to add more devices to the compatibility list every day. However, since HD Voice clients vary between the different carriers, not all variations will work on the Cricket network. Because HD Voice service would not be guaranteed to function and thus 911 calling may not be supported, the devices cannot be supported on our network. You can use our IMEI Checker below to confirm your device’s compatibility with our network.

Can you help me understand the difference between the Motorola Edge that is supported on a Cricket and the Motorola Edge 5g that isn't? They both have VoLTE capability, so I'm puzzled...
