I have a moto e5 cruise that was given to me bc I my previous phone stopped working. I don’t have the $$ to purchase a new phone so I registered for qlink wireless and got a SIM card in the mail yesterday . When inserted a message appears on the e5 stating there’s a network lock and I need a pin # to proceed. Research has shown me I may need to pay to have phone unlocked🤔. If that’s true is there any other way to do so that’s legal and FREE??? I need a phone badly—been without for too long.

Hi @perryperty00 and welcome to the Community Forum! All of our phones are locked to our network until you’ve had at least 6-months of active paid service with the phone. You can review our Device Unlock Policy here: https://www.cricketwireless.com/legal-info/device-unlock-policy.html. We recommend trying to unlock the phone in the myCricket app as shown in the photo below. You do not need to sign into the app, but you must be connected to an active WiFi network during the unlock process.
