Never had connection problems till upgraded phone

Old cricket Samsung stopped working all of sudden cricket support said phone hacked. Told to buy new sim card. I did, then talked into an upgrade. Purchased LG , but minutes after noticed calls over 3 mins. Other party could not understand me. 3 different calls happened repeatedly after 3 mins in call. Went back to cricket switched to Motorola. Same thing. To stay on a call with no problems I use video call with no problems. What's going on?

That sounds really weird. Maybe your old phone used 2G towers and your new phone uses the 3G/4G service? Maybe it (service) is spotty in your area? Contact customer support and ask them to look into your cell tower coverage.
