New LG Harmony 4 - Not receiving text notifications

Hello,

I just bought a new LG Harmony 4 phone and I am not receiving text notifications. That is, I don't receive an audible tone or vibration or screen message when a text message arrives. I do get the text messages, but no notification of them. I have tried to adjust the notification settings for the Messaging app, but I am only able to receive notifications if the screen is on. That is, when the phone is on standby with the screen off, I do not get the text message notifications.

I realize that this is a new model, and that the behavior may be a software bug. 

Can you help me to fix or work around this problem?

HI All, If you still have this phone I think I figured it out.

Open Messaging, then open the menu on the side, 3 dots. go to settings then notification. unselect “show as pop-ups”

with this on, I notice that I do not get notifications and not know when I received a text, they would flash on the screen and disappear quickly.

Now it shows the text message icon at the top of the screen and how many new messages on the messaging icon.

Same for me, ive missed a lot of important time sensitive texts because of this

I know the problem you speak of for I just purchased the same phone. What I tried was to go into app settings find android accessibility suite then scroll down to "draw over other apps" and switch it to "no" and that should do it it worked for me.
