Voicemail-waiting notification

My wife uses an LG Harmony phone running Android 7.0.  When there is a voicemail waiting for her, a little message-waiting icon shows up in the top line of the phone, among the many other icons that are usually there.

I'm looking for an option to display a more prominent notification when there is a voicemail waiting.  Is there anything in the basic phone configuration that I'm missing that could do that?

The phone says that Cricket Visual Voicemail is installed, but as best I can tell that doesn't do what I'm looking for.

Looking in the app store, my impression is that most of the voicemail apps are for voice-to-text conversion.  I see an app called "Better VoiceMail Notifier Pro" that maybe is what I'm looking for, but its user rating is mediocre.

Thanks for any help or advice that you can offer.

@kard  As far as I know Android phones don't have another option for voicemail notification other than in the tool bar up top, showing on the phone app, or showing on the voicemail app. There may be a third party app that has other options in the Play Store.
