So after doing a bunch of reading, I guess during covid the Hotspot was unlocked for tons of people. That was nice but I’ve been paying for it all along. My previous phone was a Nokia 8.3 5g and the hotspot was working great for the last 9 months or so. Hotspot has now been BLOCKED on my phone number so I thought I’d get a newer phone. I purchased a Pixel 6. However hotspot is still being blocked on my phone. I called customer support only to have them say that they won’t support any Pixel hotspotting.
But just for a second, lets look at the “Mobile Hotspot Eligible Phones”: for Android, in total there are just a FEW that are 5g. And at that note they are ALL lower end phones. Less than 10 phones in total. That really is a huge disappointment.
So BYOD really doesn’t apply to this company and customer service is out the window when you hand select what specific devices you do want to support. In the end, it’s just lies that will loose you customers.
