I was wondering if a Xiaomi Poco m5 would work on this, before I buy one.

I checked the BYOD list for Cricket and it does not look like any Xiaomi devices are certified to work on their network, so I would assume that it won’t work. If you can get an IMEI, you can check it in the compatibility tool to be 100% sure.
