Phones & Devices
I own a factory unlocked LG G8X (LM-G850QM) running Android 11, Software version G850QM30a, Android security patch August 1, 2021. Checking for updates says I am running the latest software version for current OS. Using the IMEI compatibility checker on Cricket’s website tells me my device is compatible. I returned to Cricket on February 25th after having tried Mint Mobile. (I only got 1 bar of reception with Mint). So after signing back up with Cricket on the 25th my service worked great for two weeks. Then starting on March 10th all incoming calls started going directly to voicemail. Any outgoing call I tried to make immediately gave me a “Call Ended” message. I contacted Cricket support and was told I needed to enable the HD Voice option on my phone. No such setting exists. (I’m with Verizon now and that setting exists. It just disappears when the Cricket SIM is inserted.) Using the *#*#4636#*#* menu I can see that VoLTE is not being provisioned. I was then told by Cricket support t
My S10+ that they said was good to go after the 3G shut down is good for nothing now. So I go into the store and they tell me get a s20 or newer (even though my daughters s9 still works) I buy a s20 with a model # cricket’s website says is compatible and guess what, it does the same dang thing. They want to blame everyone else but this new phone made the first call I tried as a test. Then 2 minutes later I get a text from cricket that the phone is not compatible and calls stopped. Somewhere they have a problem with these phones getting listed and blocked and they need to figure it out. This is unacceptable.
Last Monday I realized my phone couldn’t get a phone cal. When I call them, they told me, don’t worry they have some issues, it should be resolved soon. Until today (after 9 days) I called again they made me do a lot of nonsense things (they knew already what’s going on), after all that, she told me I need to buy a new sim to try, and after that buy a compatible cricket phone (like I am a new customer). I told her I am in a plan with 5 people if they want us to stay they need to provide me a new compatible cricket phone. I start shopping for other companies
I have an unlocked LG G8X Dual Screen (LM-G850QM) that is now unable to make or receive calls. Any call I try to make immediately gets the “Call Ended” message. Any calls to my phone go directly to voicemail. Anyone have any idea on whats going on? According to the compatibility checker, my phone is compatible and will still work after the 3G shutdown. It’s been working fine until today.
Help! Cricket sent me a text telling me I needed to update the software on my phone to be able to use it after they shut down their 3G network. My software is up to date but I still can’t make or receive calls! I’m using an unlocked S10+ that says it is compatible on their website.
Two of my family members have Cricket service, and just recently they both got their service cut off due to that 3G shut down. They both have fairly new smartphones, and both of the phones support 4G network. What do they need to do to enable the service again? Their phones were not purchased at Cricket. Are they going to have to purchase new phones?
After many happy years using cricket as 1 of my 2 Sims in many international phones that operate on the correct LTE bands and with all the latest features, cricket suspends my line if I use a completely compatible device that's not on their very limited list. I figure there must be more people experiencing a similar issue recently as they suspend lines for "incompatible" phones, so I thought is post this.
Hello! I have a new Alcatel SmartFlip phone on a different carrier. Thought I would take a shot with this question in this forum. I was surprised that I don’t seem to have the ability to send any emojis in texts - but I can receive them. I found an app in the Kai Store (OS is KaiOS 2.5.2) that I could download some to my phone as pictures in my gallery, so I can attach them to texts, but I get charged for the text as a “multi-media” msg (twice as much as regular text) by my carrier - I have a pre-paid monthly plan. When I receive texts with emoji in them, it’s only the regular text rate that I get charged, not the multi-media rate. So my phone reads them as regular parts of texts when I receive them, but I can’t send them unless they are attachments at twice the price. Seems odd to me. Hard to believe I don’t have the ability built in to send any emoji at all. Don’t suppose anybody knows if this phone can somehow magically be able to send emoji as part of normal texting?
Why is it that all the phones on the IMEI whitelist are only sold by ATT/Cricket? https://www.cricketwireless.com/support/great-big-network/byod-compatibility.htmlCricket/ATT are forcing people to buy their phones to use volte. For example, I am using bv9600 pro unlocked & rooted. i can switch 4g bands to match their system and make custom apn to match making my phone fully compatible. However because my IMEI isn’t on the whitelist im blocked from the voLTE. Here is some of the phones info:as you can see my phone is trying to use voLTE service but because of the IMEI whitelist it gets blocked from registering IMS on the service. The real issue isn’t the phones, its Cricket/ATT forcing people to buy their phones. When in some cases isn’t the issue. My phone works with all other carrier voLTE just not Cricket/ATT because of this IMEI whitelist and is fully capable of connecting to the service otherwise. And to prove I can change whatever is nessisary on my phone including 4g bands: her
So, I spoke to Samsung today and they assured me that my note 8 would be able to function on the network as long as it has the latest software upgrade. This was also explained to me by a cricket employee at the local store. Can someone from Cricket answer the question... why is this phone not listed as a compatible device? It is perfectly capable of operating on the network as a 4g device. Is there something that can be done to correct the oversight?
I am unable to send text messages to a friend because Cricket immediately bounces back a text saying that the number is invalid, which it is not. This has happened with 1-2 other numbers, but the majority of numbers work fine with no issues. I have tried various Google solutions, to include checking my APN settings, clearing my visual voicemail cache, and clearing my Messages cache and data, but nothing has worked so far. The only other theory seems to involve a bad SIM card from switching networks, however this SIM card is from our original Cricket phones, so that should not be an issue. How can I resolve this kick back to be able to send messages to these numbers?
Hello,I have 5g plan, activated a new SIM card from cricket a couple of weeks ago, and I live in a 5g area. Yet my unlocked Z Flip 3 still only has LTE service. I see other folks have the same issue but cricket never posted the actual resolution steps in the answer. Anybody knows how to fix the no 5g issue? Thanks!
Anyone know how to get the moto one 5g to actually work with 5g? After a bunch of attempts I still show no option to connect to 5g under preferred network typeNew sim card installedSoftware is up to date Manual input for network already done, same as default Searched community for info but none available.
