5g phones and service

What good is a 5g phone and service on cricket if any plan of $55 and under caps the data at 8mb and limits video to sd quality. Does that mean for me to benefit from the added speed I would have to purchase the most expensive plan which has hot spot access that I would not use otherwise there is not reason to purchase or use a 5g phone on cricket?

Thank you for reaching out.  The unlimited more plan does offer 5G service and no speed caps. Please make sure you have a 5G device on our eligible list first.
