Can't make or receive calls since the System Update 1 day ago.

Samsung A51 5G. When I try to make a call it says “Couldn’t Connect” with the busy tone. When someone calls me it goes straight to voicemail. Texts are working but spotty (very slow). Internet is working. This happened as of the last system update 1 day ago.

Nothing wrong with our bills. Everyone else on my plan has no problem. I’ve tried restarting phone, cycling connections on/off, reseating SIM. I am pretty sure this is a Cricket issue for this specific phone.

This may be old news, but I hadn’t seen it posted here. This came from Cricket support on Twitter. I have not tested it yet - the affected A51 5G is traveling with a family member…

The current workaround for A51 5G users who are not able to make/receive calls after the recent software update is to ensure that the Samsung Messaging app is the default messaging client.  If you are using Messages by Google or another Messaging app, the user should change their messaging app back to the default Samsung Messaging app and the issue will be resolved. For most Samsung devices, you can change this in Settings > Apps > 3 dots > Default Apps > SMS App.

There is a fix.  You have to start up in safe mode then do a restart

Thanks again (from the other post). Lifesaver.

UPDATE: Went through their tech support. They said this is a known network issue on their end for Samsung phones since the update. They tried resetting my Network connections, various SIM removal reboots, and nothing has helped. I’ve been told to wait 48-72 hours and hope the “advance team” can fix it.
