Is there a way to fix the issue with the S22 hotspot. It is not working. I know it has been listed on a list of compatible devices but Is cricket going to add this feature? I've called customer service twice and they told me the phone should work woth hotspot based on the iemi but I could not get it to work, the second time the person was ugly about it and said I should have bought from cricket to get a working Hotspot. They did the same thing when I switched to cricket. They told me in store the phone I had would not work even though it was compatible and sold me a truly terrible phone so i went to the at&t phone i had and it did work. I know they wanna make their money, but I also dont like that an existing customer has to pay full price plus an upgrade fee just for a phone. I bought my phone unlocked as it was compatible with cricket based on the iemi, but it was the newest galaxy on the market and I don't enjoy spending an obscene amount of money for a new phone every year and I hoped by buying a newer model I would be able to keep it longer and save money for important things like my children. I just would like to actually utilize my phone the way I should be able to use with my plan.

Hi @meiland! Welcome to our Cricket Community Forum and thank you for your post. While we cannot guarantee that BYOP devices will work with our hotspot feature, we recommend reviewing your device model number in the link below to determine compatibility with our hotspot feature:

I have the same issue with my Samsung S22 SM-S901U1. Even though this device is clearly on their list of compatible devices, they are unwilling to provision the phones for hotspot. I went through support and was told that they won’t guarantee service, even though the list the device as being compatible.

The hotspot feature shows up on my account in MyCricket when I put my sim in a Cricket Alcatel Lumos. If I switch then sim back to my S22 SM-S901U1, the feature disappears from my account within 5 minutes. It is Cricket’s backend provisioning that is the problem and NOT a problem with the device.
