I copied and pasted this from another user but tweeked a little because this is the exact situation im in right now! I have been a Cricket customer for about 12 years now. On Tuesday, my phone suddenly stopped working. It said it wasn't connected, and it said it was not permitted to make phone calls. I took it to the local cricket store, and we tried multiple methods to fix it, and even called customer service together several times. When I tried to enter my PIN for the account, it did not work. We tried several numbers none of them worked. They gave me a security question, but it was not a security question I had ever set. We finally came to the conclusion that someone had taken over my Cricket account and stole their way into my password/pin and changed the PIN and security question. I need to disable the SIM that is currently (fraudulently) attached to my Cricket phone number. I also need to change the PIN, challenge question, and password. I have called the customer service number multiple times and they have been no help. I have gone into a Cricket store multiple times and they have been no help either. They keep saying the only thing they can do is send a temporary PIN to my phone number (which I no longer have access to), or they need me to give them my PIN (which the hacker changed) or they need me to answer the security question (which the hacker changed). I am completely locked out of my cell number and the hacker has been using it to access my bank accounts, emails, and all other accounts linked to my cell number. Essentially I am a victim of identity theft and Cricket continues telling me that nothing can be done. Has anyone else had this happen? Is there anything that can be done. Cricket customer service in store as well as over the phone have been terrible!
