Help! Cricket sent me a text telling me I needed to update the software on my phone to be able to use it after they shut down their 3G network. My software is up to date but I still can’t make or receive calls! I’m using an unlocked S10+ that says it is compatible on their website.

@Bulldog If you have confirmed your device is compatible with our HD Voice network and your software is up to date please try the following steps:

  • Go to Settings > Cellular > Enable LTE > and select “Voice and Data” to turn on LTE.

If this does not resolve your issue you may need a new sim card.

Hi BillyM. So my wife’s phone (Galaxy Note 9) stopped working this morning but it is compatible with the new work per the Cricket Store Manager at a location near our home.

Will Cricket provide a new sim card? It shouldn’t be our responsibility to purchase.

Did Bulldog get his calling to work and what was the resolution?  On the Samsung Community Forum, many AT&T network customers (MVNOs, too) can’t call out and can’t receive calls and still are awaiting resolution.  I shouldn’t have to pay for a new SIM card but was told that I would be refunded $10 to purchase one at Walmart, Target, Gamestop or any other partner.  Did that today and replaced the old Cricket SIM with the new one, followed the activation text, answered that I want my old number and am an existing Cricket customer.  The SIM replacement didn’t fix the no calls problem.  Still waiting for the promised call back to my landline after reporting to Cricket that the new SIM failed.  Even got texts after each call attempt I made that seems to be from AT&T SIM verification.

No, Cricket didn’t provide a new SIM card to me for this same no calling service problem.  I was told to purchase one at a partner store, like Walmart, Target, Game Stop, and I would get a $10 refund once it’s activated.  Got the SIM card at Walmart and activated it as an existing Cricket customer wanting to keep my number.  The new SIM card didn’t solve the problem.  I don’t see a refund on my account, either.
