Does Cricket have projected rollout date for One UI5 Android 13 the S20 5G and the S20+5G Samsung phones? I've seen some of new features (Bugs) on other S series phones and I have some concerns about 13's stability as a whole. I am currently on update FVK4 DEC 1, 2022. Thank you in advance for responding.

We don’t have software information available but updated will go out as soon as available and approved.

WOW, that was possibly the smoothest and most velvety brush off I have ever experienced! In fact, I'm experiencing a wash of goose bumps on the back of my neck and down my arms! CD, for 15 years I managed data center merges and migrations. I was the guy who wore the jacket or shirt with the really big target on his back. I did one migration that moved from Pontiac Michigan to Sao Paulo Brazil,  in just under 8 hours and that included full end-user testing that took 4 of those 8 hours away from the migration team.

I did another in Malaysia the Amdahl, Hitachi and IBM all said, impossible! CD, look I've been in my fair share stressful INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY Rollouts and you will do just about anything to not give out forward looking information. And never use the term "We project completion by XX-XX-XXXX!" That's a death sentence!!!

So if everything that could go wrong, did go wrong, what time frame COULD we be looking at on the high side? April, May or even June? Or are we nudging toward late February thru March? Come on CD, why don't ya throw us a bone! False hope is better than no hope at all.

Hey CD, are you out there? I finally got the ONE UI 5.0 Android 13 update. I'm on the VGL5 update version and so far, keep your fingers crossed, NO BUGS TO REPORT! I've been testing on both of my phones. I've got a Galaxy S20 5G, 128GB Storage,12GB memory and a Galaxy S20+ 5G, 128GB Storage, 12GB Memory, and both are doing great! So far no creature features and performance is about the same but there was noticeable improvement in certain area's. All I can say is GREAT JOB BROTHER!

Thank you,

MikeM

I have model # smg781u. Galaxy s20fe 5g I brought it from at&t (same network) but, I have yet to receive my update to ONE UI 5. I was curious to know if you knew why this might be?

Jonb81, if your phone is still locked to AT&T's network, then the rollout date will be determined by AT&T's schedule.

I don't know if you were aware that last week, Feb 22nd thru Feb 25th, both AT&T and Cricket, experienced issues with users unable to complete any toll free (8XX number) and some local calls as well. I can't say for sure but it sounds like a bad or corrupted config, was loaded on a DS3 Switch (the network backbone) and it then propagated the bad load to all the other switches. This exact scenario happened to me once and only once! It was a bad 3 days recovering everything!

Thanks, I actually wasn't aware of that or the other. Your info is very helpful. I just hope at&t will roll out the update lol. Thanks again

OK, I made a couple of calls and emails and your S20 FE 5G should have received the ONE UI 5 push update on January 28th, 2023. Have you been receiving push notifications? Have you ever received a push notification? Have your push notifications worked a while back but have not worked for at least 4 or 5 months? Have AT&T check their backend database of IMEI numbers and make sure that your IMEI number is associated with your phone and shows that your phone is connected and active. Next, have them do a test push to your phone. AT&T's IMEI backend database used to have an issue of showing some IMEI numbers as inactive, therefore no push of anything to that IMEI number.

Try some of the things I mentioned and let know. If all else fails, you could just download it and install it yourself!

Thanks,

MikeM

I received push notifications when I was with at&t. This may have been what happened, why it's not updating. I switched to cricket and they told me that they couldn't switch my phone over so I had to buy a galaxy A03s. Not a terrible phone, but not a s20 fe by no means. I didn't really want that phone, nor did I want to go through all the hassle of switching to a new phone. I got to thinking and I was wondering if the sim card from the A03s would work in the s20 fe. Guess what, it did. That's probably the issue.

Yep, that was it! The IMEI was no longer registered with AT&T, but when you put the Cicket sim card in, the IMEI re-registered with Crickets IMEI database and made your S20 FE 5G a fully registered device on the cricket network. You should go do an update software in Settings. The S20 FE 5G phones on the Cricker network received the ONE UI 5 update push on Jan 21st & and the 22nd of this year. Since the S20 was not registered in the IMEI database prior to the push, you may have to download and install the ONE UI 5 update yourself. It's not hard to do, but be careful of who you get the update from! There are some really evil people out there that get their jolly's, causing waves of misery to unsuspecting folks.

Do you have any recommendations? I tried doing it through the Samsung smart things app to no avail.

Try calling Cricket Customer Support and ask if they have the access to do a push of the S20 FE 5G version of the update! The worst that can happen is they could say no or don't have the access to do it. They could open a ticket as a service request and assigning to a full fledged tech with sudu authority! Make sure the are pointing the push at the S20 IMEI number! This is ULTRA IMPORTANT!!! If they ask why you changed phones, tell them your other phone became unstable and you had to get off it before it took all you data when it crapped out completely! Let me know what happens!

Got absolutely nowhere.... I was told by the representative that they don't have the ability to push notifications. I was told that even though everyone else had got the update, I won't get it until samsung or cricket decides to send it to me. Can I update through smart things?

Do you have an email address where I could send you some information? Does this bulletin board have the ability to send a private message? I don't want your email made public, and I really don't want this place to be set on fire with web traffic. Every phone that was excluded from the update, for whatever reason, is scrambling to get ONE UI 5 Android 13 on their device. I need to go look up a few things, but I will check back here in a couple of hours. Do you have access to a pc/laptop with good internet access and a USB-A to a USB-C data transfer cable? If not then maybe you can connect the phone to PC via Bluetooth. Don't forget to turn on developer mode and choose USB Debugging on. See you in a few!

Mike I have the same problem with my unlocked s20 5G.  It used to be at&t before I bought it.  But I’ve tried talking to Samsung and they said that they released the update to Cricket a while ago and it’s up to each carrier to send the update for unlocked devices.  But Cricket has been no help either.

jonnboy1976, It's going to hurt me to tell you this but, Cricket pushed out the ONE UI 5.1 update on Friday March 17th 2023 at 06:00am.From what I could gather the push was fairly smooth with only one exception. And it was corrected within 15 minutes so the push resumed. A few calls from USERS that never performed any software maintenance, O/S Updates or even bothered to restart their phone every two or three months. Most user's don't know how to properly close an app to free up the memory it had devoured. They act sort of like a TSR (Terminate & Stay Resident). They were placed in programs to assist them to restart the program quickly instead of waiting for it to be read off the disk, written to memory, stagged to grab a thread into the processor, function processed, output was directed to a system folder where I kept my REALLY GOOD STUF! I think maybe it's to soon after his divorce, nope it's only 35 seconds into the first scene, and all clothing had been removed! This is terrible I have now become a play by play man for port!

I’m in the same boat with my S20 FE. Is there a solution to the upgrade problem yet? I notice that my wife’s phone is a SM-G781U1 and mine is a SM-G781U (from AT&T). Does anyone know what the difference is? I see that you can download the version 13 OS File from Sam Mobile for the SM-G781U1 but not for the SM-G781U. Is there any way to flash the upgrade?
