Samsung Galaxy A52 Message issue

Question

I was having a conversation through messages and I started receiving the texts from a unsaved contact of the same number that I was having a conversation with. I cannot send messages through the new thread. And I cannot receive from the old one. They can still see the texts i send. But I have to switch back and forth just to text them
