I was having a conversation through messages and I started receiving the texts from a unsaved contact of the same number that I was having a conversation with. I cannot send messages through the new thread. And I cannot receive from the old one. They can still see the texts i send. But I have to switch back and forth just to text them

The issue you described, receiving texts from an unsaved contact and being unable to send messages through the new thread, can be frustrating. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Restart your device: Sometimes, simply restarting your phone can resolve temporary glitches or conflicts in the messaging app.

  2. Clear app cache: Clearing the cache of your messaging app can help eliminate any corrupted data that may be causing the issue. Go to your device's settings, find the app settings, locate your messaging app, and clear its cache.

  3. Update the messaging app: Ensure that you have the latest version of the messaging app installed on your device. Developers often release updates to fix bugs and improve performance.

  4. Check for system updates: It's also a good idea to check if there are any system updates available for your device. Keeping your device's software up to date can address compatibility issues.

  5. Contact your service provider: If the issue persists, it may be worth reaching out to your mobile service provider for further assistance. They can check if there are any known issues with the network or provide specific troubleshooting steps for your device.

Remember to backup any important conversations or contacts before attempting any troubleshooting steps.
