sending text messages failed

I have been with Cricket for several years. I've been using a Samsung Galaxy S8 and never had a problem. All of a sudden last week my text messages stopped sending to people 50% of the time (I can receive text messages just fine.) When I send a text, half of the texts I send will have a blue spinning circle next to them and then an error message pops up that says "message failed" and my phone asks me to review the message and try again. Sometimes when I click "retry" it will send. Sometimes it won't. It happens no matter if I'm on wifi or not, and I for sure have full service. I've tried making sure my phone's SMSC number hasn't been changed or deleted. It hasn't. I refreshed it just in case. I've tried clearing the messaging cashe. Turning airplane mode on then off. Resetting my phone. Nothing has fixed the issue.

What isn't making sense to me is the fact that some messages are sending and some aren't. I can send a message that says "test" to the same number three times and the first will work and the next two won't. And once a message has failed, no messages will send until I turn airplane mode on then off. But even then, it will only send 1 of the unsent messages at a time. I have to do this EVERY message I want to send.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

My partner has a Galaxy note 8 and is on the same plan with me and has had zero of these issues.

Hi @jesslipps23 ! We’re sorry to hear you are having issues with SMS. We would like to look into this issue further for you. Please reach out to our support team on Facebook (m.me/cricketwireless) or Twitter (@cricketsupport) with the details of your issue.

My wife and I are both having the same problem.  It has been happening for the last few months and has been getting worse. I use a Samsung A10 and my wife has a Nokia. I really don’t get why it can’t be handled here though instead of twitter (we don’t use it) and facebook (I don’t go on very often).  I figure this is a forum and would be a good place to figure the issue out. We didn’t have problems before this but it is getting really bad as of late. It’s a 50/50 chance a message will go out at best right now.

Hey Brucerick I'm the original poster on this topic. So originally Cricket's technical team reached out and suggested we change out my sim card. I went thru that process and for a week everything was working perfectly. However I'm back to the same exact issue again. Still can't send text messages about half the time. The only way I can get them thru is turning airplane mode on, then off, and then resending the original message. So, if anyone else knows that the heck is going on, please enlighten me. I'm about fed up.

Yeah, we are in the same boat. My wife has been wanting to leave cricket and I’ve been holding on for a while but this latest thing has really brought me to a breaking point.  Calls are only working about 75% of the time too, and I can’t have that happen when I have a business meeting.  Thanks for the reply.

Damm even I am having a similar kind of issue, I have searched all over the internet and even have posted on number of threads on different forum, no solution seems to work. I am really frustrated, can anyone of you here help me resolve this issue, I am very much tired now.

check your network setting

Like bokeb said, check your network setting.

First, it is possible that your wireless network dropped.  I never had a problem before myself.  If you see that is not connected, connect your wireless network.  For me, that’s good enough.  Anyway, make sure to restart your system after you make changes, whatever it is.  After restarting, I resent messages already sent, and it worked.  Hope that helps even a little bit.

It seems to me that we are all having text messaging problems and Cricket can't possibly reach out to every single one of their subscribers , I think they need to look at their servers and figure out what is going on and give us an update that fixes this problem or they're going to lose a lot of customers since multiple cell phone providers are now offering lower plans . my problems only happen when say a doctor's office says confirm yes to confirm an appointment or if I want to join a store to receive discounts nope I can't respond obviously because it fails to send. Every time those messages fail to send, and then randomly one will go through .I don't have problems with my text messages per se from friends and family just from companies however we're in the same boat we are ready to leave cricket my husband works at a hospital and has spotty service when somebody right next to him has full service and this whole thing about make sure the wireless network is on, well you shouldn't have to have your network on to send or receive a text message I mean isn't that the whole reason to have a cell phone. Sorry had to vent, I'm glad I'm not the only one having this problem because that means it's not my phone this is a cricket issue so come on Cricket get with the program fix this problem I believe it's on your end not ours.
