why is it so complicated to get help unlocking my phone?

I'm trying to reach someone at cricket that can assist me unlocking my device. I am a current customer that meets all the requirements unless there is something in the fine print i wasn't aware of. Can someone please help

Hi @Elmer, we’d be happy to confirm that your phone meets our unlock requirements. You must have at least 6 months of active paid service with the phone before it can be unlocked. Please send us a private message to @CricketSupport and include the name on your account, your wireless number, and the IMEI number of your phone.

We have separate accounts.  My husband and I want our phones unlocked.  We purchased them outright many years ago, always pay our ATT accounts timely.  We both have independently called ATT, we tried to go on the ATT portal to unlock our phones.  We both independently entered our data including the IMEI numbers, but it doesn’t submit.  Very frustrating.  How can we get this accomplished ASAP?
