The iphone will only allow regular text messages you cannot send mms over wifi only imessages to other iPhone users when you try to send an mms to an android user it simply fails unless your connected to a cellular tower which is impossible for me as there is no nearby tower hence the reason for wifi calling
I also will be getting rid of this phone and be going back to android I really want the Asus ROG phone 2 but of course it wont support wifi calling why do carries only support certain phones they should allow wifi calling for any device especially places in rural areas where they refuse to build towers and we have to rely on it
I have the newest sim card and its hell getting them because our store refuses to just sale sim cards they want to charge you an activation fee I have to order them online and have them shipped and it takes days so in convenient when our store should sale them or just give them away like AT&T does
This has been a problem for years several people have complained about it AT&T also restricts mms to cellular data only but if there is no tower signal we are just out of luck ive seen articles online where several people have used work arounds by changing the mobile dns server ip address but ive tried that and it still does not work
true they will provide service but you will pay ridiculously for it I just switched from AT&T 5 lines paying almost $300 a month for 4 lines and now with cricket I have 5 lines for only $125 a month im not going anywhere I have good services it might be your phone spend the extra money and geat a real phone its worth it people expect a cheap $100 phone to work like a $1000 phone its not going to happen sorry
THE ONLY THINGS I DONT LIKE ABOUT CRICKET IS THEY DONT OFFER ANY GOOD DEVICES AND THE DOWNLOAD SPEEDS ARE A SLOW 3MBPS DOWN ON THE UNLIMITED PLAN BUT I DEAL WITH IT THEY HAVE THE S9 BUT NOT THE S9+ AND PROBABLY NEVER WILL AND WE ALL KNOW THE S9+ HAS BETTER SPECS SO WHY NOT HAVE THE S9+ AND THEY FAIL TO GIVE ME WIFI CALLING BECAUSE MINE IS NOT A DEVICE SOLD BY THEM BUT OTHER THAN THAT I WOULD STAY WITH THEM THEY ARE ALOT CHEAPER THAN ANY OTHER CARRIER I HAVE THE EXACT SAME SERVICES THAT I HAD WITH AT&T AND THEY WERE CHARGING ME ALMOST $300 FOR 4 LINES OF SHARED UNLIMITED DATA AT THE SAME 3MBPS DOWNLOAD SPEEDS AND NOW WITH CRICKET I HAVE 5 LINES AND ONLY PAY 125 A MONTH AND ITS NOT SHARED UNLIMITED DATA AND I ALSO GET THE HOTSPOT FEATURE ON EVERY LINE YOU CANT BEAT THAT PRICE ANYWHERE ELSE IF YOU DONT WANT TO GET SCAMMED OR ROBBED DO EVERYTHING YOURSELF ONLINE TRY TO AVOID SPEAKING WITH PEOPLE YOU CANT UNDERSTAND AND NEVER TURN ON AUTOPAY JUST SUPPLY YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION ONLI
DID YOU NOT READ SAME PHONE SAME PLAN SAME AREA I SHOULDNT BE HAVING ISSUES IF CRICKET DIDNT CHARGE SO MUCH FOR UNLIMITED MAX I WOULD GO TO THAT PLAN AND AT LEAST GET 8MBPS DOWN BUT I HAVE 5 LINES AND I DONT NEED MY BILL OVER 200 A MONTH I WOULD HAVE STAYED WITH AT&T I WAS TRYING TO GET AWAY FROM THAT AND I CANT JUST CHANGE ONE LINE BECAUSE IM UNDER THE 4 LINES FOR 100 THEY SAID I BREAK THAT IF I CHANGE ONE OF THOSE LINES BUT IT SHOULD ONLY BE A 5 DOLLAR DIFFERENCE ON THE LINE ?
Most would rather shop online like me to avoid $25 activation fees I have 5 lines and that would be ridiculously expensive it already cost $50 for 5 sim cards they should be .99 cents a piece this $10 crap needs to go on and actually it should beprovided for free its your serviceSo it would have been $125 in activation fees plus $50 for the sim cards $275 total not counting whatever taxes and fees they charge just to get started thats not counting adding the plans and maybe getting a phone or whatever thats stupid im glad I didnt pay that and I have BYOD devices
I agree online is a mess they told me that its a security measure your credit card billing info must match exactly what cricket has on file and its case sensitive too but thats bull do away with it if someone uses my credit card without my permission my bank will fix it we cant even use a relatives because it wont match ?
I heard cricket was supposed to merge with AT&T and basically be AT&T's former prepaid service and it would become a GSM network but when I force my phone to LTE only it will not make or receive phone calls only on LTE/WCDMA when I was with AT&T I could use LTE only to make and receive calls and forcing my phone to GSM using hidden engineer menus also will not work at all with cricket so that tells me its CDMA
Im not sure but I have noticed that 3mbps down on cricket is alot slower than it was on AT&T sounds like they have poor management software I think it goes through a proxy server and its also a CDMA network not GSM but for the price im paying im sticking with it no other carrier competes just wished they offered wifi calling to every non cricket compatible device that way service would be based off of your internet connection I live in a rural area and its very much needed
