I've been a Cricket customer for over 22+ years. Prior to Cricket, the cell phone providers used to be PrimeCo, US Cellular which has been bought over the years which is now known as Cricket. Over the years, I have never missed a payment and always encourage others to use the Cricket Company as their cell phone provider.
My phone number has been my main source of communication with my family, friends, career, business purposes, coworkers, and other accounts over the years.
I recently wrote to Cricket Wireless because they abruptly shut my phone service off on Thursday, February 11, 2021. I noticed that I haven’t received any sort of communications throughout the night. I replied to a sent text a message that was not delivered. I also couldn’t make any phone calls whereas I discovered an error message kept scrolling across my phone screen…. "SIM not provisioned MM2".
On Friday morning, February 12, 2020….I went to the Cricket store about my phone connection. The store representative and I thought that the sim card wasn't working so I was in the process of buying a new one. When the cashier pulled up my phone number account, she discovered that my phone number was canceled.
While at the store, we contacted Cricket to resolve this matter. I received a variety of transferred calls to other representatives, supervisors and departments. In addition, I received a long wait time and false promises of a few returned phone calls whereas some of the Cricket representatives never called me back. And whenever I did speak with a representative and supervisor …. I received a variety of inconsistency reasons why my phone was turned off and accused me for violating Crickets Terms and conditions.
I am dumbfounded about this entire situation because I have never violated Cricket's terms and conditions, nor jeopardize my character. I never received any Cricket phone calls, emails, or text messages about these alleged allegations including warnings to shut my phone connection off. If I did, I would've reached out to Cricket sooner.
With all of the aggravation, the Cricket representative then reactivated my phone number in which I had to pay for.
On Monday, February 22, 2021, my cell phone was unexpectedly shut off again. I have missed a variety of important phone calls and text messages during the time frames described above. I also spoke with several customer service representatives and supervisors. The last supervisor couldn’t provide me details either but advised me to contact the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) and other agencies. In addition, the only option at that time was given is to buy another phone number service.
If I am such a violator how come Cricket didn’t notify me sooner? Also, why did Cricket selling me another phone number? None of this doesn't make any sense to me.
Oh by the way, the new number that they game me is worst phone number received because now I keep receiving robo calls, unwanted text messages, international phone calls….. that I rarely had to deal with the number that I’ve had for over 22+ years.
Lastly, I further researched many other Cricket's customers' online posts.. which related to similar poor customer service practices. Therefore, I've contacted other stakeholders (Cricket, BBB, FCC, etc.) to assist me in rectifying this problem and to restore my original phone number back to me. While going through this process, I discovered similar incidents that have happened to a few of my associates. They didn't have to go to the extent that I'm going through because their phone number was restored within a week.
