Cricket Protect not worth it

I'm really disappointed in the Cricket Protect Plan. My husband and I both purchased LG Stylo 6 phones new at our local Cricket store last year. We added the insurance plan because at the time, it seemed like a good idea to protect our investment. My husband recently dropped his phone and the screen cracked. I thought we'd pay the $29 for cracked screen repair. Unfortunately, that was not the case. We apparently don't have any techs in our area, which is something that would be helpful to know upon signing up. The cost to replace the phone was going to be a $75 deductible plus tax. Currently, that is more expensive than buying a new phone of the same style at our local Cricket store! Not to mention, the hundreds of dollars we wasted on the protection plan on both phones over the last year. Save your money.

With Cricket Protect, available for $8 per month, you get: Comprehensive phone coverage to meet your real-life needs. $29 cracked screen repair as soon as same-day for eligible devices in select areas. A fast and convenient replacement process to get a working phone back in your hands.

@Nakesha you have to look at Cricket Protect like car insurance. You pay for the “just in case” incidents, and you still have to pay a deductible before you get your car/phone repaired/replaced. You’re saving money by replacing it thru the insurance tho. If you buy the same phone in the store, it’s like $125 more b/c you also have to pay the $25 Upgrade Fee. Definitely worth it in my eyes.
