The LM1200 is Netgear’s new Hotspot offering and Cricket IMEI checker says they won’t activate it.  Verizon & T-Mobile will and ATT doesn’t have an IMEI checker anymore, their support staff said I need to drive to an ATT Store had have them put a SIM in it to determine.  The Modem is a CAT 4 LTE modem.

What’s going on with Cricket?   Just because a modem is 3g capable doesn’t mean they need to can it.

What am I missing about the 3g capable devices, will they stop working on LTE too?

Hi @bigbillsd !

It is possible that the device is not compatible with our network if it is telling you so when you input the IMEI in the link provided. Feel free to reach out to our support team on Facebook (m.me/cricketwireless) or Twitter (@cricketsupport) if any additional questions.

I had ATT try a prepaid and a post paid SIM in the unit.  No issues activating it.  Cricket just seems to be broken.  I’ve tried other fairly new hotspot IMEI’s  Cricket marks them all as incompatible.  And they all work on both sides of the ATT network no issues.  All they seem to allow is an extremely old modem in your new hotspot 2, which is 3g/4g.  Specs are on ATT site, for some reason Cricket doesn’t publish how pitiful the modem is in the only one they sell.   It really makes one wonder who is making these odd decisions.  Why do they offer 100GB hotspot plans in the first place if all you can use is substandard equipment on it?   -Bill   The ATT 100 GB plan is the same cost.  Not allowing me to send my money to Cricket is an odd business decision considering there isn’t any incompatibility with the network Cricket runs on.   Oh Well, just prevents me from sending Cricket my money.
