First, I would like to make it clear that I absolutely love Cricket and its services. My wife and I have recommended them to several people over the years. Unfortunately, until the unlock policy is changed, I will never buy a phone from Cricket again. Specifically, the clause in the policy preventing even long time customers in good standing from unlocking a phone for 6 months. I am someone that goes on international trips and as soon as I land in a country (other than Canada and Mexico) my phone mostly becomes a paperweight. The only way to overcome this is to buy a local sim card for my phone and make it fully functional for the length of my trip. Until the policy is changed I will simply buy unlocked phones off of Amazon. I have no plans on ever leaving Cricket, but this policy has made it irrational for me to ever purchase one of your phones again.

Thank you for reaching out. We do apologize that you disagree with the unlock policy. We appreciate the feedback and will make sure to forward this up.
I just realized this policy is in now in place. I just switched my phone and see that it is not available to be unlocked for 6 months. When did BYOD phones come under this criteria? I can’t understand why this was necessary for those who brought their own phones, and are long time customers.
