In the US 2-1-1 is an essential community services number and my county public health department uses this for scheduling appointments. There isn’t another number to call. When I dial it I always get a cricket response, “The service you’re calling is not available from this location. If this is an emergency, call 9-1-1.” I’ve then had friends who use different phone services call to make appointments for me. This has happened multiple times. Can any US-based cricket customers confirm if they’re able to successfully call 2-1-1, OR if they get the same message it’s unavailable and to call 9-1-1? Is this just not supported by the network? Thanks!

I think I have an answer for myself. I have to disconnect wifi first. “Due to technical limitations, Wi-Fi Calling cannot be used with TTY devices or to initiate calls to 211, 311, 511, and 811.” That said, the automated Cricket response is misleading.
