I’m interested in using an LTE 4G router such as the Cudy AC1200 Dual Band Unlocked 4G LTE Modem Router with SIM Card Slot in a remote location which has no internet but good Cricket service.  Will this work?  I read a comment on one of the 4G LTE router reviews which stated that Cricket disabled the SIM after one day of use.

Thanks so much for commenting on the community forum! We'd love to assist you in using your device. First you will need to make sure it is unlocked! That's the the kind of thing that would cause your device to totally not won't work on our network if not. Next, follow this link to see if your device is compatible: https://www.cricketwireless.com/cell-phones/bring-your-phone After that order your sim online, or visit your local Cricket Store to get your service going!

Many thanks for your reply.  In my original post, the product description included the word “unlocked”.  I was hoping to get a response from someone who has had experience using an LTE modem router using a Cricket Wireless SIM.  Best regards.

You have to enter your IMEI into their device compatibility checker, in the Bring Your Own Phone section of the website. If it says the IMEI is ok, and you get a Data Only Universal Sim Card Kit, you should be fine. I’ve been using a Netgear LB1120 4G LTE modem and a separate Netgear wifi router for about 2 years with no problems. It’s been working really well - until the last week or so. Cricket is now telling me they are going to suspend my service on February 22 because I don’t have a VoLTE device. The LB1120 is a 4G LTE device! They already suspended my service twice - I had to call customer service to get it reactivated. I am now looking for a new data only device that will pass the IMEI check or will be  switching carriers. The only data device, the Turbo Hotspot 2, doesn’t seem to work nearly as well as a 4G LTE modem. Good Luck!!!
