Q: Why are you making these changes?

We regularly review plans and features for operational and competitive reasons.

Q: How are you letting customers know about these changes?

We began communicating directly to customers starting on July 13, 2018 about these changes

Q: How will these changes impact customer experience when roaming in Mexico?

Eligible customers will now be able to use their Cricket Wireless service in Mexico just like they do in the U.S. This change lets customers stop worrying about penalties for using more than 50% of their Cricket Wireless service in Mexico.

Q: Why are you calling out Metro PCS in your advertising?

Check out Metro’s Unlimited Service terms and conditions and you’ll see why.  (Background: Metro requires customers living in the U.S. who roam in Mexico to have the majority of their usage on their U.S. network and service is subject to termination if their customers exceed this limit. This means no service and potential loss of their phone number.

Q:  Will existing Mexico roaming customers be affected by this change?

All customers on plans starting at $55 and grandfathered plans with the Mexico roaming feature will continue to enjoy roaming in Mexico but will now be able to use Cricket Wireless service in Mexico without the 50% usage limit.

Q:  How does this impact customers roaming in Canada?

Customers who roam in Canada are still subject to the 50% usage limitation as outlined in their terms and conditions of service.

Q:  Did Cricket decide to make this change because of the recent U.S. Immigration/border news?

No. This change lets customers stop worrying about penalties for using more than 50% of their Cricket Wireless service in Mexico.
