First off, I am a network engineer and have been doing it for 16yrs... So as far as my home setup..it is solid.
All my other devices including non-cricket phones and Android OS has no problems with WiFi in the house or anywhere else.
My ZTE phone from Cricket as of about a week or so ago simply will not stay connected to ANY WiFi hotspot longer than 5 minutes. I do 90% of my work from home and got the message today that I have used 75% of my data.... I never even use 1 GB in a month...let alone 7GB. I noticed that my phone is constantly disconnecting from my WiFi and randomly reconnects when I leave the house and come back.... Connections never last more than 5 minutes before dropping...no matter the signal quality.
The router still shows in the list but I have to reconnect to it constantly....and 5 mins later repeat... There are no issues with my home and office network and only this phone is doing this out of the 8 devices on my wireless home network.
Is there a way to bypass the Cricket manager or remove it so I can find another manager that actually works? If this is a firmware/software issue...then the phone is not at fault and I don't need to waste my time doing a warranty swap... The radio within the phone works perfectly fine until the latest Cricket update.
Anyone else have a work around for this? It is killing my data and really don't feel like dealing with the copy/paste scripted responses of support that I have dealt with every time...and got me zero results...
Thanks in advance...

I have probelms on all the phones on my plan.
My wifi manager is diabled, and it still will not work. Maybe we should take up a class-action since it is obviously a ploy to get you to use your data, and charge when you need more data.
I have a ZTE Z965 and discovered the same issue early on. I have had success in going to my wifi settings, tap on Cicket Wi-Fi Manager and clearing the checkbox to turn the manager off. I have done this to all my ZTE phones, (we have 4 free with carrier switch from Boost), and it seems to do the trick for us. Maybe it will work for you too.
I have a ZTE Z965. When I got the new phone, the Cricket clerk did all the setup and handed me the phone as ready to go. I looked through it and did not like everything I saw. The next thing I did was to reset the phone to factory defaults. Then I set the phone up again my way and was much happier, except I also had the disconnect issue. When I finally found the Cricket Wi-Fi Manager it was not disabled. I cleared the checkbox and it seemed to clear my disconnect issue. It may help you too, but if the Wi-Fi Manager is disabled I would suggest getting all your personal stuff like pictures and whatever else you have on it, then do the factory reset. You may find you are then able to control more functions on the phone than when Cricket first handed it to you. Good luck!
