How to extend ring tome time

I just recently bought a new phone from Cricket but notice that the ring time on this phone is less than on my previous phone which was on a different carrier. I looked up online how to increase ring tone time but when I tried it on my phone it said that call forwarding on my phone is disabled. Apparently in order to increase ring tone time you have to dial call forwarding which involves dialing **61* and some other numbers. But I am unable to do that on this phone,. So I was wondering how I may extend the ring tone time on my phone as most of the time when it rings it hangs up before I am able to get to it.
